Parnia Porsche wins her 2nd Professional Boxing Match by Unanimous Decision!

Parnia Porsche defeated Kewarin Boonmee by unanimous decision at the Ultra Tune Bob Rose Cup on Friday 24th June!

Held at Malvern Town Hall and organised by Peter Maniatis Events, it was an exciting night of boxing!

Randy Petalcorin vs Omari Kimweri WBA Silver Flyweight Title 15th April

We are very excited at the news that Randy Petalcorin has the chance to take the vacant WBA Silver Flyweight Title here in Melbourne on the 15th April 2016. Randy is now in Melbourne training for the bout and has even gone up a weight class! He is not peturbed by this as he recently stated “I’m ready and I’m not scared of my opponent,” tells Petalcorin. “Two years ago I’ve sparred Kimweri in Melbourne and I had no problem beating him up.” Everyone at Ultra Tune is behind you and we are excited to be at the event on the 15th April at Melbourne Pavilion in Flemington.

Charles Hatley Wins by TKO against Anthony Mundine in 11th Round

What a night at the Melbourne Convention Centre as Charles Hatley wins in the 11th Round by TKO against Anthony Mundine!

It was a lively night, with some great undercard fights:

Blake Caparello def Luke Sharp (heavyweight) — unanimous decision

Qamil Balla def Ben Wharburton v (super lightweight) — unanimous decision

Lucas Miller def Shane Tuck (cruiserweight) by KO

Kane Watts def Thomas Heads (super welterweight) by TKO

Anthony Buttigieg def Sam Colomban (Super welterweight) — split decision

Anthony Mundine vs Charles Hatley:

Hatley took the lead by round 5 with the scorecard showing he was ahead: 40-33, 40-33, 39-36

Mundine started to feel the effects of Hatley’s peristant body shots  to the ribs in round 6. Hatley then marked Mundine on the left cheek and definitely wobbled him.

By round 9, Hatley was switching stances going from orthodox to southpaw and keeping up the page. In round 10 Mundine scored his first knockdown, protested by Hatley who came back stronger in round 11 by a strong right hand and TKO.

Ben Capps wins WBC Asia Boxing Council Title

Australian 154 pounder Ben Capps (12-3-2) stopped Mike Esgandari (6-2) in round ten to capture WBC Asian Boxing Council title at the Malvern Town Hall, Melbourne, Victoria on Friday. Capps outworked his opponent consistently and at 2:07 of the final round the referee crowned Capps.

Promoter Peter Maniatis said “Ben Capps punch volume and pressure work down a gallant Mike Esgandari when ref Jim Boland stepped in to stop the fight in the 8th to give Capps the WBC Asia boxing Title.”

The Bob Rose Cup started in 2003, to honour the boxing career of the late Magpie coach and champion player Robert Rose. Boxing historians say Rose was a 16-year-old when he made his professional boxing debut at the West Melbourne Stadium on April 29, 1944, and beat Frank Darcey on points.

In other action 175 pound Manny Vlamis (13-4-0) was upset points loser to New South Wales boxer, Steven Ma (7-6-0) over eight rounds for the vacant state Victorian title. Scores 79-71, 77-73, 77-73.

Also 140 pound Terry Tzouramanis (14-2-3) outscored Lewis Goodrich (4-3-0) over eight rounds for the vacant state Victorian title. Scores 77-74, 78-73, 77-74.

154 pound Khoder Assi (7-1-0) stopped Alessandro Mammolitti(3-3-0) in round six. Referee Allan McColl called it off at 1.38.

168 pound Korobo Etto outscored Chase Haley over six rounds. Scores 59-55, 59-55, 59-55.

Randy Petalcorin defeats Ma Yi Ming in first round!

Champion boxer Randy ”Ultra Tune” Petalcorin returns to the Philippines with his record now at 23-1-1 (18Kos) after defeating Ma Yi Ming in Beijing China with a first round knockout ! Determined Petalcorin raced off his stool to take the fight to the local favorite. Only 40 seconds into the bout he floored Ming and he never recovered. Referee Raul Caiz Jr. was forced to stop the contest at roughly 1:45 of round one following two more excellent knockdowns.

Well done to Randy! An excellent win and proof that hard work, determination and passion are key to success.
